Our guys have been healing mighty quickly (or not dying) from serious wounds (see Carl and Daryl's bullet wounds, Daryl's stab wound, Merle's hand, Randall's nerve damage). Rick survives weeks in a coma without fluids or food, and his muscles don't waste away during that time. Connection? As for his wound being still open, that could have other explanations. An infection would keep a wound open a bit longer, wouldn't it? Maybe he ripped it open again (along the stitches) while flopping around on the hospital floor? Maybe the guy who took him in reopened it when cleaning it out? The school could have been a year-round school, or it could have been summer school (does Carl really strike you as a good student?). Honestly, though, there are so many things you have to just ignore, that the timeline is the least of them!Oliviahttp://twitter.com/oddballgirlnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-585323794423400780.post-73520714483613793592012-03-23T01:10:02.575-04:002012-03-23T01:10:02.575-04:00The writers don't care about timelines and con...The writers don't care about timelines and consistency. How much time has gone by now in the series?

Kirkman: I’d say we opened up in maybe June or so in the first season and the first season took place over a matter of days. Uh, you know, we are, uh, looming into maybe our third or fourth or fifth month…

EW: You can just say, “I don’t know.” There’s no shame in that.

Kirkman: Winter is coming! Call it fallacy, inaccurate, far-fetched, and yeah, it is, but it's a tv show.. seriously, a tv show, one about zombies at that. Of course it's convenient for the writer's that he recover so fast, but who cares? This is no different from countless other tv shows. Obviously there are some liberties taken with reality in TWD, but I don't see how such minor incidents, ones that I never even thought to consider or notice until I read this timeline blog, can really affect your viewing experience? Don't get me wrong, I think it's good and healthy to be generally analytical in life, and good on you for taking the time to express yourself, but this is a tv show...that's all..Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-585323794423400780.post-25760366081728166832012-03-20T21:43:41.674-04:002012-03-20T21:43:41.674-04:00I'm for the beginning of the school year time ...I'm for the beginning of the school year time line. If school began in September and had been in session a few weeks (let's say two), Rick gets shot and is in a coma (2 weeks), he stays with Morgan for a few days, so when he find the group camped out that puts us at about the beginning of October. Still warm for the south. Which seems to make sense taken the attire the walkers are clothed in. With the time they've been on the farm we're nearing November at this point which would be chilly.

What makes you think that Carl recovered in two days?chanrowlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06211700574109635786noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-585323794423400780.post-40504385597778989172012-03-20T19:41:43.698-04:002012-03-20T19:41:43.698-04:00It's kind of like a car accident.. you don'...It's kind of like a car accident.. you don't really want to read his blog but it's so stupid and hilarious that you just have to. Time is irrelevant in this world. No one is checking a clock or marking a calendar, they are not even sure if they will live to see another sunrise. So, I think it may actually help me to not get wrapped up in details, but just get lost in this fictional world. And in their world, time is no longer relevant when survival is all that matters.Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14235240589427709939noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-585323794423400780.post-54994134499836858572012-03-20T18:47:47.234-04:002012-03-20T18:47:47.234-04:00A year-round school--rare, in any event--wouldn...A year-round school--rare, in any event--wouldn't help the timeline problem, though.
